While many international suppliers attend AFAC, Rory says UES’s local knowledge gives it a competitive edge.
“Australian compliance, from road regulations to ADR standards, is complex and varies by state. International suppliers often release products here without understanding those requirements, but we work closely with our suppliers and agencies to ensure every solution accommodates localised compliance variations, is fit-for-purpose and meets all safety and certification standards.”
Reaching more than fire and rescue
Although AFAC is best known for its firefighting focus, Rory says the event’s reach goes much further.
“Mining companies, for example, operate their own emergency services teams and vehicles because external EMTs would need full site inductions before responding. AFAC brings together these highly specialised groups, along with other niche teams essential to the sector, in one place, giving us a unique opportunity to connect with them directly.”
Building relationships and community support
UES Hardware has been growing its emergency services presence since Rory joined the company two years ago, appointing a dedicated salesperson to target this market nationwide. The company now supplies key body builders across Australia, and AFAC25 will help strengthen those connections.
“We understand the day-to-day complexities these agencies face and we’re working to take some of that stress out of the process. We’re proud to support emergency services across Australia and New Zealand in any way we can, and this event is another way to give back to this industry,” he says.
Meet UES Hardware’s National team, including Group Sales Manager Rory Wale, Queensland Operations Manager Todd Lorrigan and Western Australia Operations Manager Michael Gears, at AFAC25. The team will be on hand to demonstrate products, discuss specifications and explore integration into upcoming vehicle builds.
